TEHRAN (IQNA) – A former foreign minister of Iran said the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran revived Islam and gave identity to Muslims.

Manouchehr Mottaki

“In the early years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, we saw diplomats from Islamic countries who said Imam Khomeini (RA) has given them identity,” Manouchehr Mottaki said, Addressing a webinar titled “Islamic Revolution Discourse; Software of Resistance in World”.

The online seminar was held Tuesday morning by International Quran News Agency (IQNA) on the occasion of 43rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

Mottaki said the message of the Islamic Revolution was the same as that of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), namely changing humans’ view of the world.

He referred to verse 38 of Surah Ad-Dukhan “And We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, in play,” stressing that creation has a philosophy and an objective, which is explained in verse 18 of Surah al-Anbya: “We bring forward the Truth to crush and destroy falsehood…”

Muttaki said life is a scene of constant struggle and confrontation with falsehood.

Imam Khomeini (RA) came to revive this call and renew this message, he added.

He said Imam Khomeini brought to us the message of a new development for founding a new civilization.

Those like Martyr Qassem Soleimani were the ones who truly got the message and prepared themselves for materializing it, Mottaki stated.

Other speakers at the webinar were Sheikh Naim Qassem, the deputy secretary general of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement, Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, spokesman of al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement Nasr al-Shammari, and Yemeni political activist Sayed Sadegh Al-Sharafi.

Every year, millions of Iranians across the country observe ten days of celebrations marking the anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution that put an end to the monarchy of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country.

The day of Imam Khomeini’s return to Iran (February 1 this year) marks the beginning of the Ten Day Fajr (dawn), which culminates with rallies on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution on February 11.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 43 years ago, ending the 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.

The Islamic Revolution spearheaded by the late Imam Khomeini established a new political system based on Islamic values and democracy.
