The unveiling ceremony will be part of celebrations at the center marking the birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam.

The in-person celebrations will be organized in full compliance with the health protocols in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Mihrab is a niche in mosques which faces Mecca and a leader of congregational prayers performs prayers there.

The new Mihrab of the Islamic Center of Berlin, which will replace the old one on Monday evening, has been designed and built by Iranian artisans and craftsmen.

The Islamic Center of Berlin was established in 2003 with the aim of promoting Islamic teachings.

It also serves the Muslim community in Berlin and its nearby cities and towns by offering social and cultural programs.
