A Review of What Happened at 2nd Night of Finals

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The recorded files of 11 participants were played and assessed at the second night of the final stage of 38th Iran's international Quran competitions in Tehran on Wednesday.

The opening ceremony of the finals was held on Monday and the performances are played each night from 19 to 22:30 local time.

On Wednesday, the competition officially started with the playback of the recitation of Mohammad Sadegh Mohammadi from Afghanistan who is taking part in the students' recitation category.

Hamza Fahzi from the US (memorization of the entire Quran), Ivory Coast's Sou Ebrahim (students' memorization of entire Quran), Musa Safani from Algeria (Tarteel), Bangladesh's Ahmad Takrim (students' memorization of the entire Quran), and Omidreza Rahimi (men's memorization of entire Quran for visually impaired) were the next contenders in the first part of the program.

After a break, the second part started with Iran's Hadi Movahed Amin preformance in men's recitation.

Aman Adil Ali from Uganda (memorization of entire Quran), Hamza Muhammad Faraj Salawati from Libya (tarteel), Mohammad Vejahat Reza from Pakistan (recitation), and Amir Ali Yadegari (students' recitation) were the next participants.

A total of 62 qaris and memorizers from 29 countries compete in this stage of the event, which is being held virtually.

Simultaneously, the 5th international Quran contest for the visually impaired, the 7th international Quran competition for school students, and the international Quran contest for women are also being held, virtually.

The participants have already recorded their performance and the panel of judges assesses them in the four days of the finals.

Winners will be announced at the closing ceremony on Saturday.
