TEHRAN (IQNA) – A member of Hamas political bureau says the movement does not seek a new war in Gaza but is keeping its finger on trigger.

Ezzat al-Resheq noted that Hamas is closely following the developments in Quds, according to the Palestinian Information Center.

The remarks came after the Israeli forces’ aggression extended inside al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday morning, as they stormed the mosque’s courtyards and attacked worshipers, injuring more than 150 Palestinians and arresting 400 others.

The attack drew widespread condemnation from the international community.

Al-Resheq said that a number of regional countries and a UN representative have talked with Hamas leaders as they are concerned about the mounting of tensions following the Zionists’ aggression on al-Aqsa Mosque.

“Our message for mediators is clear; Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque are our redline and any provocation of our nation’s feelings by attacking our sanctities will be met with the resistance’s reaction,” he said.

The Palestinian news agency Ma’an said the violence broke out at dawn on Friday, when the occupation forces raided the mosque through the Moroccan Gate, also known as the Mughrabi Gate, randomly firing sound bombs and rubber bullets at the worshipers.

Media reports said the Israeli troops also attacked paramedics and press crews, chased them in the courtyards of the mosque, and beat a number of them.
