TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) strongly condemned the Zionist regime’s brutal and criminal attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque that injured tens of Palestinian worshipers early on Friday.

In a statement released later in the day, the IRGC denounced the savage attack, saying the emergence of the new Intifada (uprising) and the epical and courageous presence of Palestinian youths in the scene of resistance have become a nightmare for the Zionist regime and its regional and ultra-regional supporters.

It said the desecrations of Muslims’ sanctities and attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist forces during the holy month of Ramadan are doomed to failure and will have no effect on the heroic uprising of the fighters of Intifada.

The statement underscored the need for the international community’s reaction to the developments in Palestine and the recent crimes of the occupiers of Al-Quds, saying the consequences of these moves by the Israeli regime will affect those who remain silent and the so-called advocates of human rights as well.

The IRGC also lauded the willpower of the fighters on the path of Al-Quds and reiterated support for the brave and zealous Palestinian nation, stressing that it will not allow the dreams of the world arrogance and Zionism about the Palestinian issue no longer remaining the Muslim world’s top priority to come true.

More than 150 Palestinian worshipers were injured when Israeli forces stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied Old City of al-Quds.

The Palestinian news agency Ma’an said the violence broke out at dawn on Friday, when the occupation forces raided the mosque through the Moroccan Gate, also known as the Mughrabi Gate, randomly firing sound bombs and rubber bullets at the worshipers.

Media reports said the Israeli troops also attacked paramedics and press crews, chased them in the courtyards of the mosque, and beat a number of them.
