Quran Contest in Baghdad Wraps Up

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The fourth edition of the recitation, memorization, and interpretation contest wrapped in Baghdad with awarding the winners.

 

Organized by the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine, the competition hosted eight groups of participants from different areas of Baghdad, according to alkafeel.net.

The closing ceremony opened with a recitation from the verses of the Holy Quran, followed by a speech by the Director of the Holy Quran Institute, Sheikh Jawad Al-Nasrawi, in which he thanked all the attendees and praised the efforts made by the organizers of this competition.

He then pointed to the projects of the Holy Quran Institute and its branches in the governorates and its activities in the blessed month of Ramadan, which includes Quranic circles and educational courses among other programs.

The final of the event was held next in which Al-Muhoubin team attained victory against Husseiniya Al-Askari.

The competition had started on the first day of Ramadan.

The Holy Quran Institute of the Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine and its branches in Iraqi governorates hold many programs in Ramadan, aiming to spread knowledge throughout the country.
