Plan Launched in Iraq to Boost Skills of Quranic Elites
A number of Quran reciters and memorizers from different countries have been selected to participate in the plan, whose implementation started in the holy month of Ramadan.
Muntazar al-Mansouri, head of the Quranic Propagation Center of the Astan which has launched the plan, said it is part of efforts by the Astan to develop the skills of Quran activities, the website of the Astan reported.
He said those applying to take part in the plan were given several exams and needed to have certain qualifications, including memorization of at least 15 Juzes of the Quran.
Mansouri said 35 Quran activists from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Indonesia passed the exams and were deemed qualified.
He noted that the plan’s courses are held in two stages, with the first one being organized virtually for a month and the second one slated to be held in-person for one week in Iran.
In the first stage, lectures are given by experts and scholars in such areas as Quran recitation, Sawt, Waqf and Ibtida, memorization, Quranic concepts and ethics, he went on to say.
