Final Round of Iran Nat’l Quran Festival for Students Slated for May 23: Official

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The final stage of the 36th national Quran festival for Iran’s university students will kick off on May 23, an official said.

Rashid Jafarpour, acting cultural and social deputy of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, said the final stage will be organized in person.

The University of Qom will host the national Quranic event, he went on to say.

The festival’s competitions are in different categories like memorization, recitation, Adhan (call to prayers), choral recitation, Tawasheeh (religious singing) and supplication recitation.

There are also other sections featuring arts, literature, research and Quranic innovations.

Some 130 top contenders will be announced and awarded as winners of different categories, according to Jafarpour.
