An official with the center said it needs them to teach Quran memorization to children and teenagers, Youm7.com website reported.

Hani Awda said those willing to join Al-Azhar’s branches as Quran teachers can register their names at the website of the center.

He said being a memorizer of the entire Quran and mastery over the rules of Tajweed both in theory and practice are among the requirements for those willing to work as teachers in the center’s branches.

Al-Azhar’s committee for evaluation of teachers’ qualities will hold an examination for the applicants, he noted.

Those admitted will work at the branches in teaching the Quran to some 350,000 children and teenagers.

This is while another official with Al-Azhar said so far half a million children have been admitted to take part in the center’s Quran memorization courses.
