Speaking to a Norwegian TV network, Paludan said he is currently in Copenhagen for rest but will return to Sweden to hold a Quran-burning event next week.
The Islamophobic politician added thought that he is going to call off his planned Quran-burning shows in two cities of Norrkoping and Linkoping, citing fear of demonstrations that could threaten his life.
On April 14, Paludan burned a copy of the Muslim Holy Book in Linkoping. He also threatened to burn copies of the Holy Book during further rallies.
Swedish police however rejected Paludan's application for permission for a demonstration to burn the Quran on May 1 across Sweden.
Different Swedish cities have witnessed widespread protests against the anti-Muslim and Islamophobic measures and also the government’s failure to address the issue.
In April, a group of people in Malmo protested Paludan’s provocation of burning the Holy Quran in various Swedish cities.
Some 500 people also attended a protest organized in front of the country’s parliament in the capital Stockholm.
The protesters were holding banners that read “Stop the burning of the Holy Quran” and “Stop insulting Muslims”.
