Kuwait Int’l Quran Contest: Panel of Judges Lauded

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The panel of judges of Kuwait’s 11th international Holy Quran competition have been widely applauded with respect of bringing into prominence the top winners.

The panel comprises the chairperson, Salem al-Zahrani from Saudi Arabia, as well as Anas al-Kandari from Kuwait, Ahmad al-Tarabulsi from Kuwait, Taher al-Asyouti from Egypt, Abdulbaset al-Farjani from Libya and Mohammad Jumaan from Yemen.

Officially known as the Kuwait International Award for the Quran Memorization, the competition’s 11th edition got underway on Thursday and will conclude today, October 19.

Based on official figures, a total of 126 Quran memorizers and reciters from 70 countries are taking part in the competition.

The top winners will receive cash prizes totaling 152,000 Kuwaiti dinars.

Iran has three representatives in this edition. Shoja Zuwaidat from Khuzestan province is vying for the top title in memorization of the entire Quran along with observance of the ten styles of recitation, while Ali Gholamazad from Zanjan province and Reza Rezaei from Gilan province are representing Iran in the memorization category and teenagers section respectively.
