Seminary teacher Ayatollah Seyyed Rahim Tavakol has referred to some points about guidance and the characteristics of those who are guided. Here is a summary of his remarks:
God is the owner and ruler of the entire universe and is capable of everything; all praise goes to Him and He is aware of what is going on inside humans.
According to the Quran, God is closer to people than their “jugular vein” (Surah Qaf, verse 50) and is also aware of secrets in the hearts. “God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them.” (Surah Baqarah, verse 7)
“Ahl al-Taqwa” (the righteous) refers to those who abstain from various things while also exercising constant remembrance, attention, and vigilance. These were the people whose nature immediately answered questions about the universe and accepted that answer, becoming believers.
Of course, we said that this piety works in all stages of guidance.
Another group is those who insist on ignorance. If this new faith encounters their Nafs and worldly desires, they will choose the latter. Such a person stands in front of guidance and will follow a different path.
