TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iran's representative in the women's section of the 30th Jordan international Quran competition has departed for the Arab country.

Roya Fazaeli will represent Iran in the memorization category of the event. The women's competitions are set to be held on March 5-10 in Amman.

Speaking to IQNA before her departure, Fazaeli said she was ready to vie at the competition which will be attended by representatives from some 50 countries.

"Given that I have recently gone through two important Quranic competitions successfully, this level of preparedness can help me in this competition," she said.

Fazaeli won the memorization category of Iran’s 45th National Holy Quran Competition back in January.

She will experience her first international contest in Jordan.

Due to the similarities between regulations of competitions in Arab countries, representatives of these states may have a higher chance for top ranks, she said, adding that however, results can also become "surprising".

The men's competitions in Jordan will be held on April 11-17. Ali Reza Sameri will represent Iran in the category of memorization of the entire Holy Quran.
