Various Forums Planned at Int’l Section of Tehran Quran Exhibition

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The international section of the 30th Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition will host forums on various topics, the head of section said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mehdi Zare told IQNA that Quran and peaceful coexistence, Quranic diplomacy in the international arena, and Quran and the environment are some of the subjects to be discussed at the forums.

He noted that on the night of the inauguration of the section on Monday, a forum was held on respecting holy scriptures from the viewpoint of divine religions and international law, which was addressed by Ayatollah Ahmad Mobaleghi, member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, and Seyed Ali Mousavi, an official with Iran’s foreign ministry.

According to Hojat-ol-Islam Zare, Quran recitation, education programs, and showcasing Quranic arts and Quranic activities are among other activities of the section.

He said a number of cabinet ministers, religious and cultural figures and artists from 21 countries take part in the exhibition this year, with the artists putting on display their Quranic art works.

The official noted that introducing and promoting Iran’s Quranic activities and accomplishments internationally is another objective of the section.  

The Islamic Republic of Iran can promote Quranic diplomacy to the world in cooperation with other countries and the exhibition is an opportunity for pushing for this objective, he went on to say.

The 30th edition of the Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition was launched at the Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosalla (prayer hall) on Saturday and its international section was inaugurated two days later in a ceremony attended by Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, Mauritania’s Minister of Islamic Affairs and Original Education Dah Ould Sidi Ould Amar Taleb and Mohammed Hamid, Niger’s Minister of Culture, Tourism and Crafts.

The international section will run for ten days.

Artists and Quran activists from 21 countries, including Pakistan, Iraq, India, Russia, Tunisia, Algeria, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Oman, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Kenya and Russia are taking part in the expo.

Quran translation, poetry and literature, civilization-making mosque, family and Quranic lifestyle, children, Quran-based consultations, grassroots Quranic institutes, Quranic education, promotion of the culture of Nahj al-Balagha, promotion of Sahifeh Sajjadiyeh, Quranic innovations, religious arts, and religious publications are among the expo’s other sections.

The event is annually organized by the Iranian Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in the holy month of Ramadan, with the aim of promoting Quranic concepts and developing Quranic activities.

It showcases the latest Quranic achievements in the country as well as a variety of products dedicated to the promotion of the Holy Book.
