TEHRAN (IQNA) – In a ceremony held on Lucknow, the capital of India’s Uttar Pradesh state, to honor winners of a competition on Quran and Adhan recitation.

Some 120 boys and girls from different parts of the city had taken part in the contest.

It was organized for children and teenagers by Lucknow’s Muammil Cultural Institute.

The top contenders received medals, certificates of honor and other prizes at the ceremony.

It included recitation of verses from the Quran by Hojat-ol-Islam Manzar Abbas Shafiei and recitation of a poem in praise of the Holy Book by poet Saber Ali Omrani.

Speakers at the ceremony, Hojat-ol-Islam Musa Riza Yusufi and Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed al-Hassan Naqavi underlined the importance of learning the Quran and congratulated the parents of those who were successful in the Quran competition.
