In a letter to Sheikh Qaradaghi, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Shahriari said, “We listened with all our hearts and feeling to your speech in which you addressed rulers, nations, and international institutions and media about what is happening in Gaza and the oppression and injustice that the people there are suffering and the brutality (they face) which is unprecedented in human history,” he wrote in the letter.
Hojat-ol-Islam Shahriari noted the Arab and Muslim people and noble people of the world have met the expectations (about supporting the Gaza Strip) and expressed hope that others will also listened to the voice of their conscience and support Gaza.
“(Just as you said) we reiterate that Al-Aqsa is our highest priority and defending our legitimate right in Palestine is our first responsibility and duty,” he went on to say.
In a recent speech, Sheikh –Qaradaghi called for establishing a global humanitarian alliance to protect Palestinians in general and the people of Gaza in particular.
“We live in a world marked by ongoing conflicts, and we are currently witnessing brutal massacres in Gaza and a continuous genocide. This underscores the urgent need to establish an international alliance to reaffirm fundamental humanitarian principles, reject violations of human rights and dignity, and oppose double standards and the reprehensible racial outlook when dealing with the human right to live in dignity and freedom,” he said.
