Zahra Abbasi answered five questions and recited from memory the verses specified by the panel.
She put up a good performance, receiving no corrections from the arbiters panel.
The memorizer seems to have received the full score in Husn Hifz (accurate memorization).
The other contenders performing on the second day were from Palestine, Kuwait, Malaysia, Cameroon, Lebanon and Iraq.
Aged 20, Abbasi is among the youngest Iranian contestants taking part in Jordan’s Quran competition.
A student of Arabic language and literature at the University of Tehran, she was selected to represent Iran in the Quranic event after finishing runner-up in the country’s national Quran competition last year.
