Given that there are large gatherings and crowds in holy sites during the pilgrimage, wearing masks helps a lot in protecting the health of pilgrims, the statement read.
Umrah pilgrims are also required to keep social distancing to reduce the risk of spread of viruses.
They are also urged to wash their hands with water and soap and use disinfectants, according to the statement.
