Iran: Initiative Launched to Mark Prophet’s Demise through Quran Recitation

IQNA – Mosques and shrines in Iran will host a special Quran recitation event on the eve of the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) demise.

 

On the night of the demise of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the martyrdom of Imam Hassan (AS), the "Rahmatullil Alameen" initiative will be held by the Quranic Affairs Center of Astan Quds Razavi.

This event will feature the collective recitation of Surah Muhammad.

The recitation will take place on Sunday, September 1, 2024, after the Maghrib and Isha prayers.

The event will be simultaneously held at the holy shrine of Imam Reza, other sacred sites, blessed shrines, and selected mosques across Iran.

The 28th day of Safar, which falls on Monday, September 2, marks the demise anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hassan (AS).

The 30th day of the lunar month, September 4 this year, is marked as the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam.
