Yemen Quran Competition for Youths Reaches Semifinal Round

IQNA – The semifinal stage of a Quran competition for youths in Yemen began in the capital Sana’a on Monday night.  

Earlier in the day, the two referee committees for the youngster Quran recitation and chant competitions declared names qualified for semifinals, after 21 competitors run for 3-day qualifiers race.

Six youngsters were shortlisted for Quran competition; 3 from Sana’a City, 2 from Hudaydah and 1 from Sana’a governorate, the committee said in a statement.

As for chant race, seven competitors were shortlisted for the second round; 4 from Sana'a City and one from each Ibb, Dhamar and Amran governorates, the committee added.

The semifinals of both Quran and chant races are at two night parties hosted by Old Sana'a University on Monday and Tuesday.
