The sixth Imam (AS) has been widely praised by rulers, scholars, historians, and clergymen.
This is according to an article published by the website of the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Hussein (AS) holy shrine on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sadiq (AS). Excerpts of the article are as follows:
The school of Imam Sadiq (AS) is distinct from other Islamic schools that were contemporary, before or after him. The light of the school of Imam Sadiq (AS) shone so brightly that it occupied the eyes and minds of everyone, as if nothing else could be seen in comparison with this huge school.
One can point out some of the strengths of this school that distinguish it from other Islamic schools. One of its strengths is the power of the founder of the school, Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad al-Sadiq (AS). It is the privilege of this school that its founder was a man who is universally known for the breadth of his knowledge and the power of his reason and the intensity of his piety and his zeal.
The second thing that distinguishes this school from other Islamic schools is its comprehensiveness. This school is not limited to the study of jurisprudence and Hadith as is common in other schools, but includes the study of jurisprudence, Hadith, interpretation, Quranic science, philology and Arabic literature. It goes even further and includes sciences like chemistry, medicine, astronomy, astrology, physics and so on.
The school of Imam Sadiq (AS) is a school that includes all kinds of Islamic and human sciences. Among the points that represent the strengths of this school and distinguish it from other schools is its accuracy and scientific depth. The Imam Sadiq (AS) school is not a superficial school, but a school that relies on scientific evidence and criticism, analyzing opinions and returning things to their original validity. Therefore, Imam Sadiq (AS) and his disciples cannot be defeated by words or defeated in debate.
This great school housed a large number of students, all of whom were learning directly from Imam Sadiq (AS), and these four thousand students had their own students.

The Imam Sadiq (AS) school was an intellectual army that fought and destroyed deviant currents of thought from inside and outside the Islamic community. The students of this school were the protectors of the religion and the guardians of its message, trying to pass it on to the next generation without distortion and without contamination.
Today, we see scholarly circles in every corner of the world that are the intellectual and ideological extension of an approach that was founded by Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS). They tried to establish an authentic religious school that preserved Islam from deviation and brought the message of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) to the Ummah.
Here an important question arises: How can a Muslim become an effective element in the school of Imam Sadiq (AS) to gain the approval of Allah and the approval of his Wali and the AHl—ul-Bayt (AS) and to achieve a position similar to what Imam Sadiq (AS) said about his disciple, Hisham bin Hakam Kufi? The Imam (AS) praised Hisham for helping with his hand, tongue, and heart.
Today, after nearly thirteen centuries since the founding of the school of Imam Sadiq (AS), Islamic sciences such as jurisprudence, Hadith, Quran interpretation, philosophy, ethics and other Islamic sciences are still affiliated with the school of Imam (AS) and are helped by the valuable wisdom and guidance of its founder. Not only are Islamic sciences related to the school of Imam Sadiq (AS), but many new sciences have also been founded by him.
