Speaking in a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart on Sunday evening, Abbas Araghchi elaborated on Iran’s stances on regional developments and deplored the increasing insecurity in the region as a result of the ongoing crimes of the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and its repeated aggressions against Lebanon.
He said the global community should mobilize to put an end to the largest genocide of the century, which is ongoing in Gaza.
At least 52,243 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023, according to the Gaza Health Ministry on Sunday.
Araghchi also informed the Saudi top diplomat about the latest trend of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US.
Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, for his part, expressed his condolences over the tragic incident that led to a fire and a deadly blast at Shahid Rajaei Port in southern Iran.
He conveyed his country’s condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims and the government and people of Iran, and prayed to God for the recovery and health of the injured.
