The media director of the Najaf provincial health department said on Sunday that the comprehensive health plan for the Arbaeen pilgrimage is aimed at ensuring the health of pilgrims.
Maher Yasser al-Aboudi said the plan includes the deployment of more than 90 fixed and mobile medical teams and 20 volunteer teams with the participation of nearly 1,700 personnel in various specialties.
More than 110 ambulances will be present to transport and relocate patients and injured people, and ambulances from the Ministry of Health, the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), the Astan (custodianship) of Imam Ali (AS) holy shrine, and the Iraqi Army have also joined this plan to ensure a speedy response in emergencies, he noted.
Al-Aboudi emphasized that all hospitals in Najaf are participating in the comprehensive Arbaeen health plan and are ready to welcome possible emergencies during the religious procession by increasing their admission capacity and declaring full readiness.
He went on to say that the Ya Ali (AS) Emergency Center is one of the most important support centers in this plan, noting that it is equipped with operating rooms and complete medical specialties, and has an outstanding staff of doctors and health personnel.
This center is intended to be used to handle emergencies, especially in crowded conditions and possible accidents, he concluded.
