IQNA – An Iranian veteran Quran activist called on reciters and memorizers to use the 1500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as an opportunity to vigorously promote the religion’s merciful and compassionate teachings.

Iranian veteran Quran activist Mohammad Reza Solhjou

Speaking to IQNA, Mohammad Reza Solhjou emphasized the duty to convey God’s message as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) did, stressing the use of Quranic verses about kindness and unity to counter Islamophobia and present a true, peaceful image of Islam to the world.

In the current situation and more than any other time, in order to fulfill the duty and complete the mission of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Quranic community has the duty to explain the merciful face of Islam by referring to the verses of the Quran, he stated.

The 1500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is an opportunity to strive to spread and promote the pure Muhammadan culture in the society with special sensitivity, he added.

It has been quoted from the Prophet (PBUH) that he held both himself and other Muslims responsible for conveying God’s message to the people, Solhjou stated. But “it should be seen how this task should be carried out by us and the Quranic society at different times.”

“The duty and mission that we, especially the Quranic society, have today based on the order of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), according to the requirements of the time, is that… we should emphasize the propagation and promotion of Quranic verses in order to introduce a spiritual, divine and at the same time merciful face of the Quran to the society.”

The Quranic community, led by reciters and memorizers, should try to represent and recognize the true image of Islam in the form of their various programs, including recitation circles, and for this purpose, dealing with the verses of the Quran that talk about kindness, affection, friendship, and unity should be at the top of the list, he said.

Undoubtedly, in expressing such an image of the Quran, dealing with the personality of the Prophet (PBUH) based on the Quranic references has the most function, he noted. “For example, the Quran itself introduces the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as Rahmatun Lil-Alamin (mercy for the whole world).”
