The organization of the 28th edition of the Sharjah Quran & Sunnah Award (1447H / 2025) officially began in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates, on September 16, 2025.

The Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment (SNQSE) has officially launched this edition, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah.

This award reinforces the emirate’s longstanding commitment to supporting the Quran and Sunnah, instilling their values in new generations as guiding lights and fortresses of identity and ethical principles.

The 28th edition of the award covers multiple categories, including Quran memorization across all age levels, Imams, Quranic tutors, mothers who have memorized the Quran, Quranic recitations, and excellence in recitation. The award also includes a category for the Sunnah, and accompanying activities such as recognizing the best private Quranic center in the emirate and awarding the best Quranic classes.

Participation criteria are carefully tailored to address the diversity of target groups. Citizens and residents of various ages are welcome to compete under strict regulations, some at the level of Sharjah emirate, some at the national level, and some specific to those enrolled in Quranic circles affiliated with the Establishment. Participants in the Sunnah category must adhere to the curricula approved by the Establishment, while dedicated categories are available for Imams, teachers, and Quranic tutors, alongside a special category for women under the “Mother Who Memorizes the Quran” category.

All details regarding categories, participation rules, and mechanisms are available on the SNQSE's website. Registration is now open and will continue until October 2, 2025. Preliminary rounds are scheduled from October13 to 30, while the finals will be held from November 17 to 27. Results will be announced on December 11, allowing participants and centers ample time to prepare and ensuring broad participation.

This edition also introduces a new recitation category at the emirate level, reflecting the SNQSE's commitment to encouraging talented reciters and providing them with opportunities to showcase their abilities and strengthen their presence in Quranic sciences.

Sultan Matar Bin Delmok Al Ketbi, Chairman of the SNQSE, emphasized that the award represents one of the most prominent Quranic and scholarly platforms hosted by Sharjah since its establishment in 1997. He highlighted that the patronage and support of the ruler of Sharjah have contributed to expanding the award’s scope and developing its categories to encompass all age groups and educational levels, meeting community needs and enhancing the contributions of Quranic centers across the UAE.
