IQNA – The 28th edition of the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Award in Sharjah, the UAE, entered its final stage.

It has been organized under the patronage of Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, at the Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment headquarters.

The final rounds feature 332 contestants, including 158 male and 174 female participants, competing across all categories of the competition.

The ten-day event is being held with morning sessions for female contestants and evening sessions for male contestants. The Establishment was keen to provide an ideal environment for the male and female contestants, starting with a warm welcome and online registration, continuing with the preparation of dedicated testing halls, and culminating in the meticulous and transparent monitoring of the judging process.

The contest aims to promote interest in the Holy Quran and Sunnah, and to cultivate a generation imbued with the noble Islamic values of moderation and balance.

The award categories for this cycle include the Holy Quran category at various age levels, the Imams and Quran memorizers category, the Mothers who have memorized the Quran category, the Recitations category, and the category for the most beautiful Quranic recitation. In addition, there is a category for the Sunnah and accompanying activities, including the Best Private Quranic Center category in the Emirate and the Best Quranic Circles category. This cycle also saw the addition of a new category for Recitations at the Emirate level in Sharjah, reflecting the development of the competition and its responsiveness to the diverse academic and age-related needs of the participants.

The Establishment formed specialized judging committees comprised of a select group of highly qualified and experienced individuals in the field of Quran and Sunnah competitions. These committees evaluate participants according to the highest standards of memorization, recitation, and performance across all categories of the competition, ensuring the accuracy, fairness, and transparency of the results.

This year, the competition attracted 1,314 participants of various ages, including 675 males and 639 females. Of these, 332 finalists, representing the best memorizers and students of the Holy Quran and Sunnah in the Emirate, qualified for the final rounds.

The Establishment noted its commitment to developing the competition's branches by adding a new branch for readings, in line with the scientific and age development of the participants. Specialized judging committees work to evaluate the participants' performance according to precise and unified standards to ensure fairness and transparency in the results.

“Through this award, we also seek to consolidate Quranic culture and spread the sciences of the Holy Quran and the Prophetic Sunnah among various segments of society,” it added.
