Speaking to IQNA, Abolqassemi said this idea can be realized by the Al al-Bayt (AS) Institute.
It can hold the finals of the finalists in Iran, which would be a very commendable move, he stated.
To benefit from the potential of Quranic activists, it is necessary for prominent reciters to subject themselves to assessment once a year so that there is an incentive for further growth and effort, and this effort remains as an asset for them, he added.
“The capacity to hold events such as Quran competitions in our country is no secret to anyone. When I was working as the director of Quran Radio, we launched a Quran competition on the radio, with limited facilities, and it was welcomed by tens of thousands of people.”
He presented a proposal for holding such events and said, “A plan that I have been emphasizing for years is to hold a final of finalists. Instead of inviting reciters from different countries that hold similar competitions in the country, we should invite only the champions and top-ranked qaris from prestigious global competitions.”
The Al-Bayt (AS) Institute in Qom has the capacity to implement such a magnificent international event in the coming years, he stressed.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Abolqassemi mentioned the production of successful Quranic programs for the general public, such as the Mahfel TV Show, by the IRIB, and said, “My concern is that the number of our Quranic education centers is not enough to welcome people to Quranic classes after broadcasting such programs.
“We must join hands now and create an integrated national system so that anyone in any part of Iran can easily find the closest Quran class to their home or workplace. Otherwise, this opportunity will turn into dissatisfaction.”
The senior qari also highlighted the successful experience of producing the program ‘Mahfel Setareha" on the Pooya Network (for children and teenagers, saying, “The use of a cheerful atmosphere and attractive characters in Quranic programs has proven that it can keep children and even adults glued to the TV. Continuing this path is essential for the future. Rest assured, after the new programs are broadcast, there will be a great welcome for learning the Quran, and we must be ready for that day.”
