IQNA – Libya has announced the winners of the 13th International Holy Quran Award, which concluded in Benghazi with participants from more than 70 countries.

The event was organized by the General Authority of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs under the Libyan government.

The competition began last week in Benghazi and ended on Sunday, September 28, with the top contestants in four categories being named.

In the category of full Quran memorization, Diaauddin Muhammad Rahim from Pakistan won first place. He was followed by Abdulqader Yusuf Muhammad from Somalia, Abubakar Muhammad Hassan from Nigeria, and Ibrahim Mumba from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

In the children’s memorization category, Salman Mahmoud from Libya took the top spot. Amadou Balde from Guinea, Anas bin Atiq from Bangladesh, Ayman Muhammad Saeed from Yemen, and Munib Ramez Mahmoud from Germany ranked next.

Abdelzahir Abdullah Ibrahim from the United Kingdom won first place in the memorization with ten recitations category. Yahya Muhammad Adam from Kenya and Tareq Mohyi Kholou from Germany followed.

In memorization with interpretation, Libya’s Abdulrahman Abduljalil Al-Juhani claimed first place. Bouna Thiam from Congo-Brazzaville, Muhammad Issa Haj Asaad from Syria, Zakaria Sharbiov from Tajikistan, and Abdulsamad Adam from Ghana secured the next positions.

A total of 120 participants took part in the competition, representing countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

Organizers described the event as an opportunity to strengthen unity among Muslims and to present Islamic values on an international platform.
