These days, the city of Sanandaj, the provincial capital of Kurdistan, with its decorated streets and spiritual atmosphere, is ready to host one of the largest Quranic events in the country.
It will host the national Quran contest’s final stage from October 18 to 28.
The Quranic event has invited not only those interested in the Quran, but also all the people of the province to welcome the guests.
There will be 450 participants from all over the country competing in various categories.
Simultaneously with the Quran competition, more than 200 cultural gatherings and exhibitions will be held in different parts of the province to spread the spiritual atmosphere of the Quran throughout Kurdistan.
The city of Sanandaj, known for its beautiful nature, rich culture, and hospitable people, has taken on a new look these days; from mosques and cultural centers to streets and urban spaces, everything is prepared for a magnificent hospitality.
According to the Director General of the province’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Department, special incentive packages have been planned for the province’s top reciters to serve as an incentive for the further growth and flourishing of local Quranic talents.
Also, prominent international qaris, especially famous reciters from Egypt, will be present in the competition’s sideline programs.

The National Holy Quran Competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran, organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, is the largest Quranic contest in Iran, attracting participants from across the country to compete in various categories.
The annual competition, regarded as the most prestigious Quranic event in Iran, aims to promote Islamic values, foster Quranic literacy, and celebrate exceptional talent.
It is held in different categories, including Quran recitation, Tarteel, memorization, and Adhan (call to prayer).
The top winners will represent Iran in international Quran competitions across the world.
