In a ceremony, Sheikh Ahmed Awad Abu Fayouz presented a special certificate of appreciation from the union to Sheikh Ghalban for his efforts in serving the Quran and spreading Quranic sciences, Al-Watan reported.

It was in line with the efforts of the union to honor prominent Quranic figures of the country who have dedicated their lives to serving the Quran and teaching recitation of the Holy Book.

Sheikh Ghalban played an important role in teaching the rules of recitation and Tajweed and educating generations of qaris and Quran memorizers in Kafr el-Sheikh and elsewhere.

He is known as an Al-Azhar scholar who is committed to his mission.

Sheikh Fayouz said at the ceremony that the union has always strived to appreciate the efforts of scholars and reciters who have had a tangible impact in serving the Holy Quran.

He added that Sheikh Ghalban is one of the outstanding reciters with good performance, humility and generosity.

Ghalban thanked the union for this valuable initiative and emphasized that serving the Quran is a great honor and a blessing from God, before it is from the people.

Ghalban was born on March 26, 1946 in the city of Desouq in Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate. He learned the seven styles of Qurann recitations from Sheikh al-Fadli Ali Abu Layla in the Ibrahim Al-Desouqi Mosque in his hometown.

Ghalban is currently working as the head of the Quran recitation circle in Desouq.
