Al-Toukhi wrote on his personal Facebook page, “I ask God to accept my and your good deeds and make the Holy Quran my and your intercessor on the Day of Judgment,” Fito website reported.
“The Quran Radio in Kuwait requested a Quran recited in my voice, and I presented it to them for the pleasure of God Almighty. I am presenting this recitation to the dear ones at the Quran Radio in Kuwait so that it can be made available to them and to the listeners of this radio station anywhere.”
Al-Toukhi continued, “I am donating this only for the pleasure of God and without expecting any financial reward, and I hope that God will bless it and that it will be an ongoing charity for the benefit of me and (all) Muslims.”
He had previously told Fito that the decline in the status of recitation in recent years has many reasons and factors, the most prominent and important of which, are the audience who accept and even demand and insist on poor-quality and market-based performances.
“A reciter who satisfies their demands is elevated to the heavens, while a committed and God-fearing reciter is turned away. This is a strange equation and paradox and an unfair division.”
