Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Abdulnabi Mousavifard, the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the southwestern province of Khuzestan made the remark at a ceremony held Monday to honor the province’s Quranic activists and winners of Quran competitions.

“You are the elite figures of our province who are trying to put the Quran on the people’s tables. God willing, we will be able to fully benefit from the Word of Revelation and place the province at the top in the field of the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifa Sajjadiyah, which is not possible except with the help of you, my dears,” he stated.

Hojat-ol-Islam Mousavifard, who is also the head of the Khuzestan Council for the Development of Quranic Culture, added, “We are divided into three groups with respect to the Holy Quran. Some of us focus all our attention on the recitation of the Quran. Another group also deals with the concepts and meanings and understands the verses. The third group is those who, in addition to recitation and dealing with the concepts, try to act upon the verses. God willing, we will be among the third group. This group is pious. Trying to recite and memorize the verses should be the introduction to acting on the Holy Quran.”

He went on to say, “You are the Quranic figures who are trying to turn the Quran into a discourse. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution has demanded (training) 10 million Quran memorizers (in the country). (Memorizing and promoting) Nahj al-Balagha is the second demand of the Leader, and in addition, (there is a demand for promoting) Sahifa Sajjadieh. These three treasures should be the focus of our lives.”
