
Ahmad Mohammadi, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Istanbul, along with Bahram Kian, the Iranian cultural attaché in the city, visited the office of the Istanbul Mufti to congratulate Emrullah Tuncel on his appointment as the Mufti of Istanbul.
In this meeting, Tuncel considered the long-standing relations and common cultural roots between Iran and Turkey to be a valuable platform for expanding religious and cultural cooperation between the scholars of the two countries and emphasized the effective role of religious scholars in strengthening the unity and solidarity of the Islamic Ummah.
Referring to the historical position of the Persian language in Anatolia, he emphasized the need to deepen cultural and scientific cooperation between the two countries.
He also presented a report on the activities, administrative structure, and functioning of the Istanbul Provincial Mufti Institution in selecting mosque imams and methods of teaching the Holy Quran in schools and Quranic centers.
Referring to the positive and influential role of the two countries in the Islamic world, Tuncel emphasized the importance of cultural, religious, and Quranic cooperation between Iran and Turkey.
Mohammadi, for his part, emphasized the deep religious, cultural, and historical commonalities between the two countries within the framework of Islamic civilization.

He also announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop scientific, research, and Quranic cooperation with Turkey, including in holding religious and Quranic conferences, Quran competitions, and establishing academic relations between scientific and religious centers of the two countries.
Referring to the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Mohammadi officially invited the Mufti of Istanbul to attend the 33rd Tehran International Holy Quran Exhibition, and to speak at the 4th International Quran Conference in Tehran, which will be held during the holy month of Ramadan.
