Egypt’s Qalyubiyah Mosques Prepare to Welcome Ramadan

IQNA – The Awqaf department Egypt's Qalyubiyah has announced the decoration of mosques to welcome Ramadan.

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, mosque officials in Qalyubiyah province are preparing to welcome worshipers by implementing cleaning and decoration plans, Bawabeh Mevlana website reported.

Based on the instructions of the Egyptian Awqaf minister, the Qalyubiyah Awqaf department has launched a comprehensive plan to improve the condition of mosques and ensure their readiness to receive worshipers for prayers, Taraweeh, Tahajjud and Itikaf.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Radwan, an Awqaf department official in Qalyubiyah, said arrangements have been made to receive worshipers in more than 7,500 mosques across the province.

He added that the cleaning campaign will be implemented in all mosques under the supervision of 15 sub-departments.

Radwan said there will be a comprehensive plan, including holding cultural and religious gatherings during the holy month, as well as holding various Quran recitation sessions.

According to the official, 152 special educational programs for children, 268 lectures, and 80 study circles are among the programs of the holy month in mosques.

He said 704 mosques have been designated for Tahajjud prayers and 255 mosques for I’tikaf, noting that 16 Iftar banquets will also be held in different mosques.

The official went on to say that 496 open spaces have been designated for Eid al-Fitr prayers at the end of Ramadan.
