Iran’s Quranic Community Pays Tribute to Founder of Islamic Republic

IQNA – Members of Iran’s Quranic community visited the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA), the late founder of the Islamic Republic, south of Tehran on Monday.    

Members of Iran’s Quranic community visited the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA), the late founder of the Islamic Republic, south of Tehran on Monday, February 9, 2026.

 

The visit came during the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) celebrations marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution’s victory.

They paid tribute to Imam Khomeini and renewed allegiance of the ideals of the late founder of the Islamic Republic.

They also took part in noon and afternoon congregational prayers led by Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hassan Khomeini.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and the playing of the Iranian national anthem.

Afterwards, Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Taghizadeh, the head of the Dar al-Quran al-Karim Organization who also chairs the Quran Committee of the Headquarters for Holding Ten-Day Fajr Celebrations, explained some points of reflection in the recited verses.

The ceremony continued with the recitation of more verses from the Quran by Hamidreza Ahmadi-Vafa, an internationally acclaimed qari as well as teenage qari Mohammad Amin Nabiloo.

Next, Hoajt-ol-Islam Mohammad Qomi, the head of the Council for the Development of Quranic Culture and the head of the Islamic Development Organization, in a speech emphasized the central role of the Quran in the formation and continuation of the Islamic Revolution and the necessity of society moving towards realizing a Quranic life.

Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hassan Khomeini then delivered a speech, emphasizing the deep connection between the late Imam’s thought and the teachings of the Holy Quran.

The launch of the Quranic Center of the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini (RA) and the performance of ritual music by the Army Band were other parts of the ceremony.
