
It opened on Friday evening at Abdellatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers, with the participation of 18 contestants from provinces across the country.
There are also representatives of Arab, Muslim and African countries, including prominent and top-level Quran reciters from Palestine, Syria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Chad, Tunisia and Libya.
This year is the first time that this Quranic television program is being held internationally and with the participation of representatives of other countries.
This edition of the Taj Al-Quran competition is being held by the Holy Quran Satellite Network under the supervision of Algeria’s state television.
The decision to include representatives of different countries has been made in order to expand the international dimension of the competition and strengthen Algeria’s efforts in introducing Islamic religious values based on moderation, moderation, tolerance and empathy, the state TV said.
The preliminary and national stages of the contest were held throughout Algeria a few weeks ago, and 9 women and 9 men advanced to the final stage (the international round).
