The school, which is for girls only, operates under the supervision of the country’s Mashikhiyat (Islamic affairs department).

It is a center not only for Quran memorization but also for training a generation that is well-acquainted with the Quran and acts upon its teachings.

The school began its activities seven years ago as a small project with three Quran learners and now it has hundreds of students of different ages.

They get familiar with the Islamic culture and can become flag-bearers of Islamic teachings in different parts of Europe.

The school’s programs start with teaching Arabic letters as a gateway to entering the phase of reading and memorizing the Quran. The students then learn the principles of Tajweed and Quran recitation.

In the summer of 2024, the school had more than 220 students who took the lessons in person. There were also hundreds of Albanian children learning the Quran by benefiting from the center’s online teaching programs.

The school is run by Fatima and Renita Nitai, two sisters who are memorizers of the Holy Quran.

They also hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Islamic studies from the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Pristina.
