IQNA – The Israeli regime’s operations in the besieged Gaza Strip have left at least 33 Palestinians martyred over the Eid al-Adha holidays, the Gaza Health Ministry announced.

Palestinian mourners carry the body of one killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip on May 17, 2026.

Medical sources confirmed that a Palestinian man succumbed to his wounds on Sunday from injuries sustained in an Israeli strike on Gaza City the previous day.

Gaza’s Health Ministry stated that this latest martyrdom raises the death toll from Israeli attacks during the four-day Eid holiday to at least 33 Palestinians, with more than 130 others wounded since the first day of the occasion.

Meanwhile, the director of al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah warned of an imminent total collapse of medical services.

Due to the months-long Israeli blockade, the hospital’s electric generators have failed, forcing operating rooms to shut down.

Riad Hussein stated that critical departments, including intensive care, dialysis, and neonatal units, will soon cease functioning if the criminal siege continues.

These attacks persist despite the ceasefire agreement in Gaza that took effect on October 10, 2025.

The health sector in the blockaded Palestinian territory continues to face severe shortages, destruction, and lack of essential equipment due to the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The Israeli regime’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has brazenly claimed that his forces still control around 60 percent of Gaza, threatening further expansion.

The so-called “yellow line” under the US-brokered ceasefire was meant to be a temporary measure ahead of full Israeli withdrawal, yet the occupation continues its violations.

Since the October ceasefire last year, Israeli attacks have killed over 925 Palestinians and wounded more than 2,810.

Overall, the Israeli genocide in Gaza has already claimed nearly 73,000 Palestinian lives and injured over 172,000, the vast majority women and children.

The steadfast Palestinian resistance, backed by the Axis of Resistance and the unwavering support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, continues to confront this brutal occupation, defending the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people against Zionist crimes.
