
Awda and his family were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in western Gaza City on Tuesday.
The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement Hamas confirmed on Wednesday that Awda, the commander of the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the movement, had been martyred, Palestine Today reported.
It said in a statement that Awda, known as Abu Amr, was a steadfast fighter and by sacrificing his blood, created another page of honor and dignity.
Hamas added that the result of jihad is victory or martyrdom on the path of God.
According to Arab sources, in addition to Awda, 3 others were killed and 20 others were wounded in the Israeli regime’s airstrike.
