IQNA – Every day, 235 tons of Zamzam water are distributed in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

Zamzam water is distributed in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina 24/7.

This is according to the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, which said water supply services to pilgrims and visitors are provided through a 24-hour operational system.

They have provided access to Zamzam water in various places inside the mosque and its courtyards, it said.

The presidency added that this system consumes approximately 796,000 plastic cups daily, while the total volume of Zamzam water distributed and consumed in the Prophet's Mosque reaches approximately 235 tons daily to meet the needs of the increasing number of visitors.

The water distribution system consists of more than 10,000 tankers placed throughout the mosque and its courtyards, which are continuously filled and monitored, in addition to periodic tests using the latest technologies to ensure water quality and safety.

The presidency has also provided fixed water points inside the Prophet's Mosque, including cold and non-cold water dispensers at several entrances and on the roof of the mosque at exits 25, 29 and 34 for cold water and at entrance 8 for non-cold water, thus facilitating access to Zamzam water for worshippers and visitors at various locations.
