
The PMU command in the Euphrates Al-Awsat region announced that 30,000 PMU forces will ensure security for the funeral of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, Al-Ahed News reported.
According to the announcement, the forces will be responsible for providing security for the funeral and farewell ceremony from Monday morning until the end of event.
Brigadier General Ali al-Hamdani, Commander of the Euphrates Al-Awsat Operation of the PMU has emphasized the full readiness of the forces to hold the funeral ceremony.
He said all logistical preparations have been made for this ceremony.
Emphasizing the necessity of fulfilling the historical responsibility in welcoming the body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Ummah, al-Hamdani said Moukebs (service stations) have been prepared to receive the mourners and provide them with food, water, and services.
He said emergency vehicles and ambulances will also be deployed to provide medical services and immediate assistance during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Yasser Hussein al-Issawi, deputy chief of staff of the PMU for operations, announced the completion of all executive plans and the organization of the funeral ceremony, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday in the provinces of Najaf and Karbala.

He said the security, service and administrative plans for this ceremony have been developed in full coordination between the PMU, Iraqi security forces and other relevant institutions, and in addition to the main plan, alternative scenarios have been envisaged to ensure a smooth and orderly organization of the ceremony.
Al-Issawi emphasized that the high level of preparedness and facilities mobilized for this ceremony reflect Iraq's serious determination to hold a magnificent funeral ceremony.
He also emphasized that the funeral ceremony of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution is a message of loyalty to the blood of those martyred in the wake of the American and Zionist aggression.
