751 Moukebs in Najaf, Karbala to Serve Mourners during Martyred Leader’s Funeral

IQNA – More than 750 Moukebs (booths providing votive meals, water and other services) will serve mourners during the funeral procession for martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution in the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.

The Supreme Committee for the Funeral Ceremony in Iraq announced that the necessary preparations, supplies and coordination for the official welcoming of the body of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Ummah in Najaf and the public funeral in Karbala have been completed.

Organizing 751 Moukebs in Najaf and Karbala to serve the mourners are parts of the preparations.

Major General Saad Ma'an, spokesman for the committee, said the ceremony for welcoming the body of the martyred Leader will be held on Tuesday night at Najaf Airport by officials and in the presence of a high-ranking delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He noted that the public funeral ceremony in Karbala will also begin at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

He announced the completion of all necessary preparations and coordination for welcoming and holding the funeral ceremony in the two cities.

Referring to security coordination, the spokesman said continuous meetings are underway to monitor the security plans developed, with the participation of all security units and the army air force.

Major General Ma'an also emphasized that according to security regulations, the flight of any flying vehicle, including quadcopters, within the ceremony area is prohibited and only those with an official permit will be allowed to operate.

He pointed to the extensive media coverage and services provided to pilgrims in the media sector, saying more than three thousand journalists from Iraqi, Arab and international media will cover this event.

Also, 2500 cameras and 23 live broadcast centers will broadcast all angles of this historic ceremony in real time, he noted.

According to the Iraqi official, extensive arrangements have also been made in the field of food and health services.

He said 351 Moukebs have been organized in Ashraf and more than 400 Moukebs in Karbala Mu'alla to provide services to mourners.

He went on to say that in order to implement the health plan for the ceremony, 150 ambulances will be deployed on the funeral routes in Najaf and Karbala.
