Hundreds of Mosques Destroyed in Gaza After 1000 Days of Israeli Aggression
Around 815 mosques in different parts of Gaza have been completely destroyed, while another 151 mosques have sustained damage as a result of Israeli bombardments, the reports said.
During the same period, three churches have also been destroyed, including the Church of Saint Porphyrius, one of the oldest churches in the world.
The reports further stated that 19 cemeteries have been targeted, with parts of them destroyed or leveled during Israeli military operations.
Beyond religious sites, several prominent religious and historical landmarks in Gaza have suffered severe damage, including the Omari Mosque, Sayyid Hashem Mosque, and Ibn Uthman Mosque, which are considered among the territory’s most significant religious and historical monuments.
Palestinian and international institutions have warned that attacks on religious sites have inflicted severe damage on Gaza’s religious, historical, and cultural heritage, placing a key part of the strip’s civilizational identity at risk of destruction.
