Kosovo Delegation Most Successful in Skopje Int’l Quran Competition
The international Quranic event was held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, from July 26 to 29.
The competition saw the participation of approximately 300 participants from 29 countries, according to the Muslimsaroundtheworld website.
Kosovo was selected and announced as the most successful delegation in the competition after winning 10 out of 30 prizes.
Despite its small size and its gaining independence only recently, Kosovo has maintained its position as a leading European example in Quran education and training Quran reciters.
With the largest Muslim-majority population in Europe, the country has an education system overseen by an Islamic cleric who has had a significant presence in international Quranic circles.
The International Quran Competition in Skopje was further evidence of this superiority, as the Kosovo delegation topped the rankings and, as the most successful team, achieved the best overall results among the 29 participating countries.
The country’s representatives won 10 out of 30 prizes in the competition, which was attended by almost 300 participants from 29 countries. This achievement came after the Kosovo delegation’s outstanding performance in various sections of the competition.
Hafiz Alban Dali topped the list of winners by winning first place in the category of memorizing the entire Quran, which was the most outstanding achievement of the competition, while other members of the delegation also achieved top rankings in various categories.
In the 10-part memorization, Samra Bashani took second place in the girls' section, while Marigona Mileva and Hana Maloku jointly took third place.
In the 5-part memorization, Mehmet Morena took third place in the boys' section and Darya Smaili took third place in the girls' section.
In the 2-part memorization, Emra Shala took first place in the girls' section and Adonis Djimali took second place. In the recitation category, Ammar Hoxha took second place and Yunus Bajaziti took third place, while Riana Eyvazi took second place in the girls' section.

Mustafa Efendi Dalko, representative of the Grand Mosque of Kosovo, was a member of the international jury. He emphasized that the jury applied the highest standards of accuracy and fairness in its evaluations, noting the high level of the competition and the close competition between the participants.
Sami Al-Awaji, the head of the jury, along with other members of the jury, also praised the performance of the Kosovo delegation and emphasized that the delegation achieved the best results in the contest and that the performance of its representatives reflects the advanced level achieved by Quranic education institutions in Kosovo.
