Since last year, 52 courses have been held across the country for Quran memorization instructors, an Awqaf Organization official said.

Hojat-ol-Islam Reza Mohammadi-Parchuee, who heads the Strategic Center for Teaching Quran Recitation and Memorization, told IQNA that more than 900 Quran memorization instructors took part in the courses that have so far been held.

He said the courses were part of the plan for training Quran memorizers that is being implemented by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization to meet the guidelines set by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution about the need for training 10 million memorizers of the Holy Quran in the country.

He added that the Strategic Center for Teaching Quran Recitation and Memorization was also established in the holy city of Qom last year in order to better implement the plan.

One of the main missions of the center is to train human resources for teaching Quran memorization at holy sites all over the country, Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi-Parchuee stated.

He said those taking the courses are required to have learned at least five Juzes (parts) of the Quran or more and should be qualified to manage Quran memorization classes.

“They also need to make a commitment to teach at holy sites after they complete the Quran instruction courses.”

Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi-Parchuee added that memorizers of the entire Holy Quran are given priority for registering for the courses.

He said Quran teaching skills, Tarteel principles and methods of Quran memorization are some of the themes of the courses.

The official went on to say that complementary courses for elevating the skills of Quran memorization instructors are planned to be held next year.
