According to esharh.net website, hundreds of citizens from the holy city of Medina and Jeddah attended the funeral rituals and the body of the Shia scholar was laid to rest in Al-Nuzhah region, north of Jeddah.
Because of the participation of a large number of people and so many religious, scientific and academic figures, the funeral prayers were performed two times.
Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad ibn Sayyed Ahmad ibn Sayyed Abul Qasem Husseini Lavasani passed away on November 24 at the age of 91.
He was born on the 9th of Dhul-Hijja in 1343 A.H. and lived in Iraq, Iran and for about 61 years in the holy city of Medina.
When he was 10 years old, after completing the elementary school, he began seminary studies in the holy city of Najaf.
Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Beheshti, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Bagher Mahallati and Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Abul Qasem Khoyi were some of his masters in Najaf seminary school.
He left Najaf to Medina in 1373 A.H. and stayed in the holy city for the rest of his life.
