Preliminary Stage of Quran & Hadith Olympiad Wraps up

The preliminary stage of the oral section of Al-Mustafa International University’s Quran and Hadith Olympiad has concluded.

Head of the competition’s jury panel Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Reza Shahidipour told IQNA that the final stage of the Olympiad in the oral section will be held in February 2014.

He said the final round will be organized at the international level, adding that 10 contenders from 10 different nationalities who have scored the highest in the preliminary stage will compete in the finals.

Hojat-ol-Islam Shahidipour noted that the theme of this year’s Olympiad will be “Quran and Style of Life”.

According to the Quran expert, copies of the book “Jore-i az Noor” (a sip of light), featuring Islamic lifestyle, have been given to the contestants in the categories of Tahghigh and Tarteel recitation and prayer recitation.

He said one of the features of the Olympiad is paying attention to the meaning and concepts of the Quran with the aim of promoting the culture of Quran reading and contemplation among the university’s students.
