Sheikh Ali Salman made the remark on Thursday, December 5, at a conference titled “For Bahrain”, the website of Al-Wefaq Society reported.
He said no matter how far the pressures and political maneuvers of the ruling regime would expand, the Bahraini nation would not give up its demands.
He said the political maneuvers the Al- Khalifa regime made in 1973 and 2001 cannot be repeated because the awareness and vigilance of people have risen considerably.
Sheikh Salman underlined that the regime and the political currents have no other option than presenting a democratic-based solution with significant popularity.
He also said the regime’s opponents seek a solution and claims about the opposition’s attempt to prevent the resolution of the crisis are baseless.
Bahrain has been the scene of uprising since mid-February 2011. Since then, thousands of pro-democracy protesters have staged numerous demonstrations in the streets of Bahrain, calling for the Al Khalifa royal family to relinquish power.
