The fifth edition of “Quranic Researches” contest will be held on February 3 with the participation of Saudi students for three days.

According to Al-Riyadh newspaper, registration for the contest is underway at King Abdul Aziz University in Saudi Arabia.

Osama bin Sadiq Tayeb, president of the university, said that the competition has been planned with the aim of encouraging the younger generation to memorize and recite the Holy Quran’s verses, identifying Quranic talents and developing Quranic innovations.

The previous edition of the contest last year was held with the participation of 252 female and 198 male students of the country.

Salah Baothman, head of the Quranic Studies Department of the Education College of the university, said that organization of such contests plays an influential role to support the youth against intellectual movements which oppose true religious teachings.

One million Saudi Rials have been specified to be awarded to the winners of the contest, he added.
