Construction Project of “Imam Ali (AS) Museum” Begins in Najaf

The construction project of Imam Ali (AS) Museum began on January 23 in cooperation with Alawi holy shrine in Najaf.




According to Buratha news agency, Ali Khuzair Hajji, member of the holy shrine’s council, said that Imam Ali (AS) Media Settlement and Alawi Library were two other projects also began on Thursday.



He added that the projects have been planned to serve Shiism and the holy city of Najaf as the great scientific memorial of Muslims.



Imam Ali (AS) Great Museum will include Fatemeh (SA) Courtyard, in 5 floors, to be constructed on a 3772 sqm site.



 Hajji also noted that the custodianship of Imam Ali’s (AS) holy shrine is ready to cooperate with Iraqi institutes, such as Planning Ministry of the country and Provincial Council of Najaf, which are willing to participate in cultural projects of the holy shrine.



Also speaking at the opening ceremony of the project, Ali Al-Shukri, Iraqi minister of planning, stated that the holy city of Najaf is the city of Imam Ali (AS), Umm-ol-‘Ulum (mother of sciences) and the city of seminary schools and stressed that establishment of the media settlement will complete the scientific activities conducted in the city.
